Gamers can't defy how men and women can play on the same field.

That is what makes games special.

This week's newsletter spotlight is on female gamers. Let's take a look at how female gamers have run the gaming world.

Female gaming streamers and pro gamers, alas!

Female gamers gain a lot of momentum on Twitch and YouTube. With over 65% of Twitch users being male, there are 9 female streamers with 1,000,000+ followers. Gaming is just a part of what some of them do. Some create content on cosplay, ASMR, video reactions, streamer collabs, and just chat with their audience.

Not only do female gamers play while streaming but they also show up to the arena. The recent Women of the eRena tournament, done by eFuse and ESPN Esports along with 32 female influencers and industry leaders, included a battle on Call of Duty: Warzone for a $10,000 prize pool. In case you missed it, there will be another one next month!

The rise of gamers, especially female gamers, is showing how people are feeling more comfortable saying they are a gamer.

Below are a few links to understand both the statistics and the perspectives on what it is like being a female gamer. There are many areas of improvement, and we're all striving together to get more players to join and feel excited to get to the next level.

It's exciting to see how female gamers are making a difference.

Even so, Women in Games, a not-for-profit organization for women in gaming, helps connect women who are in the gaming and esports industries to future opportunities as well as become a part of their ambassador program (which has reached 36+ countries!).

Here are a few female gamers who are behind the scenes in diversifying the gaming community and redefining the boundaries. Follow on Twitter: Keisha Howard, Jade Raymond, and Amber Dalton.
